In the name of science and also because the mint "pepto bismuth" smell of the wintergreen oil was beginning to bring back my lunch, I split the tire at the finger. My rational was temperature. I assume the shop will have a different temperature by the time I perform the after testing.
Since I had extra in my small soup can I coated the pegs and kicker rubber too.
...the whole block smells of wintergreen oil. It stays with you like a bad decision

Success!! After sitting for only 10 minutes I was too anxious so I grabbed the meter. Only 10 Minutes!! a change of 13 Points!!! The gauge is reading at 68. That is the same as a spankin new Bridgestone BT race tire and the feel is so soft.
Talking to the rep at Thor oil this is INTENDED for this purpose. Apparently racers are too frugal to purchase new tires every race so this is the antidote. Pfft! new tires every race! I will happily coat my tires with wintergreen all the while risking the wrath of the misses when I come home smelling like I fell into a vat of Icy Hot. http://thoroil.com $20
